The Attribution Chain

We are publishing the architecture most agencies will not show you.

Not because it is secret. Because most cannot build it, and it is easier to sell a dashboard than a chain.

Read this and you will know exactly what to ask your current agency for. Some of you will use it to fix your setup without us. That is fine.

01

Ad delivery and click

Campaign, ad set, and creative level identifiers carried through every click, surviving redirects, and arriving intact in the form submission payload.

Where it breaks

Identifiers stop at the campaign level. You learn that a campaign works. You never learn which of the fourteen creatives inside it produced the signings, so you cannot make more of what worked.

Ask your agency Show me signed case counts broken out by individual creative.
02

Consent and lead capture

Qualification first form or quiz. Consent captured with a timestamped, independently verifiable record attached to each individual lead.

Where it breaks

Consent is a checkbox with no retained proof. When a TCPA demand letter arrives, and in this vertical it eventually does, the record either exists or it does not. There is no middle position.

Ask your agency Produce the consent record for a specific lead I pick, with timestamp and the exact disclosure language shown at capture.
03

Routing and delivery

Leads delivered into your intake platform with every campaign identifier and the consent record attached. Delivery latency measured, because speed to first contact is a conversion variable, not an operational detail.

Where it breaks

This handoff is where identifiers die. The lead lands in your CRM tagged "Facebook" and every downstream question becomes unanswerable.

Ask your agency Open a lead in your CRM and show you which ad produced it.
04

Intake disposition

Your intake team records an outcome for every lead: contacted, unreachable, disqualified with the reason, qualified, consult scheduled. That outcome maps back to the originating creative.

Where it breaks

You already have this data. It has simply never been connected to media. This is the highest value link available to most firms and it usually takes under two weeks to build.

Ask your agency What percentage of last month's leads were disqualified, for which reasons, by campaign.
05

Signed retainer

Signed status flows from case management back into the reporting layer. Cost per signed case becomes a live figure by campaign, by creative, by state.

Where it breaks

Nothing breaks here, if stages one through four were built properly. Everything breaks here, if they were not.

What changes once the chain is live

  • Creative that produces cheap leads and zero signings gets killed in week three instead of month four
  • Budget moves toward states where the signed case economics actually work
  • The algorithm gets fed qualified and signed signals, so it starts finding cases instead of form fills
  • "What did our last twenty cases cost" becomes a nine second question

What we will not claim

Attribution in this vertical is never perfect. Phone first callers, multi touch journeys, referrals influenced by an ad six weeks earlier, and offline conversations all introduce genuine gaps.

We report directionally correct numbers with the assumptions written down, rather than precise numbers that are quietly wrong. Any agency promising perfect attribution in MVA has either not run it or is not being straight with you.
